A true scale Talon Marine ready for war. And yes, it is indeed Hindus in Space.

That's such a confusing conversion... Would it be true to say that I'm looking at a converted terminator? He's pretty bulky, but He doesn't look typically terminator-esque. Good work!

DOWNLOAD SUCKS! Go To Bloodstock Instead!

For an angry short-arsed, flabby welsh vegetarian, I'm rather a nice person... Honestly, the growling's un-intentional.

I am a part of the 'True Scaling Movement' started by Doghouse a while ago to make marines truer to their artwork and fluff. My marines are in Actual Scale, which scales marines accurately to their fluff scale. There are a few other types of true scaling, one which involves making the marines slightly taller (ie: 'standy' marines), and over scaling, where you make them bigger then actual scale.

More can be found here: [link]

I use terminators for the base of my True Scale's.

Looks good!
What's Hindu about it though?

I know your distress, I know you're alone.
I follow you home, and put you to sleep.
You wake up and see, I've stolen your feet.

The Marine has got a bindi on his helmet and many of the faces and skulls that adorn his armour. He has basic Hindu face paint designs on his helmet too, as well as a symbol which is heavy inspired by the symbol of Kali added to his helmet as a kind of protective rune. The faces on his armour are painted in the schemes used to depict many Hindu demons. His shoulder pad also takes heavy reference off Hindu demons with vibrant eyes, blue skin and gold. [link]

Oooh, that's wicked!
What's a Bindi though?

And is that a personal thing for the marine, or an army theme?
Having personalised marines with their own little personalities would be awesome.

A Bindi is that mark Hindu's often wear on their forehead.

This is a army theme, though the marines have the most religious markings. Most of my Chaos guard tend to only wear the colour scheme.

Oh, you mean the red dot?
Cool, it's a very nice theme, and a good scheme too.

Yes. That is what a Bindi is.

And thanks. I do consider Hinduism and Indian culture to be something not touched by 40k too often, so it was a real opportunity. Plus I am partially Indian myself, so it was also a opportunity to catch up on my culture, though the Indian side of my family is from the Catholic parts of the country.

O_O
Do a defiler in the image of that four-armed elephant thing!

But yeah, some of the Asian cultures are really interesting, it'd be nice to see some of their influence in 40k.
I had an idea to do an IG army as like, Chinese samurais or something.
With the big flat cone hat things.
